Don't remember much about the FBO however it's at least 6 miles from town and lodging so not a good stop just to taxi into town for lunch. Great place for skiing etc but not sure about rental car info.

It's a nice trip for a night or weekend especially during the fall when we went back in 2004. The foliage was unbelievable and it's a typical beautiful New England town with lots of cute shops and pubs to enjoy. It's an expensive taxi into town from the airport so you might consider a rental cars are available.

Stayed there for an evening in Oct of 2004 - a really nice historical place with a good restaurant for both evening and breakfast.

Flew in in October of 2004 and it was an unbelievable place to land with foliage. Don't remember much of the FBO but they ordered us a cab and it's an expensive cab to town.

This is a neat quick stop diner on Route 103 coming into Rutland from the southeast. You will find the food there filling and home cooked. Eat in or dine at the picnic tables. Stop by the caboose for an yummy ice cream treat too.

Review:

Just 19 years after Vermont became a state and two years before the War of 1812 broke out, an enterprising man by the name of John Foot built a boarding house and tavern at the foot of a gap in the Green Mountains, in the east village of Middlebury. He foresaw the establishment and growth of this tiny community into an industrial boom town, and planned to take advantage of it by providing the ageless necessities of good food and comfortable shelter to the workers employed in local businesses, including the Vermont Glass Factory, an iron forge and a woolen fabric works.
